Let AHJIN clear the customs
with all your inbound goods coming in to Korea by air or sea. We
ensure that all customs formalities and requirements for port of
entry are met, the documentation is in order and your goods are
located, cleared and delivered to your residence in the shortest
time possible. According to Korean Customs Regulations, all
brand-new household goods are subject to customs duties/taxes (foreign
diplomats, military personnel and civilian employees are exempted).
Goods are considered brand-new, if they were purchased within six
months before the shipper's arrival in Korea. Whether or not customs
duties or taxes are levied on used household goods depends on the
following four factors :
- Whether or not the shipper is accompanied
by his/her family,
- How long the shipper is going to reside in
Korea (or how long the shipper has stayed abroad in case he/she
is returning to Korea),
- How soon the shipper brings his/her goods
into Korea after arrival and
- How much value each brought-in item has.
For foreigners with a working
permit : passport (or passports of the shipper and his/her family
member in case the shipper is accompanied by his/her family).
Residence card. Employment contract.
For returning Koreans : passport (or passports of the shipper and his/her
family member in case the shipper is accompanied by his/her family).
